In high school - these were my 2 very best friends. Val and Sheri. We had the best time at our 25 year reunion from Hopkins High School. After the reunion party Val and I got to stay at Sheri's house (which is so huge!!). Sheri suprised us with a bunch of letter's she'd saved from high school that Val and I had written her and folded uniquely and slipped in her locker slots. We stayed up until 4:30 am reading the notes, laughing, crying and telling our life stories. It was the best time ever and I am so thankful I could go! I love these ladies!!
Here Sheri sets out her letterman's jacket and we assembled a table full of old memories, yearbooks, newsletters, etc. So much fun was had - just wish my flash worked and I had more pictures.
Last night there...sad yet happy times. We had a big birthday party & potluck for the July birthdays. The kids later went out and played at arcade where they all tried to get phone #'s of...well...dates or friends...haha!
Last day on the beach - Parker tried to get a picture up in Lifeguard stand, but it was not allowed. Instead he poses by Lifeguard truck.
We had a bonfire out on the beach...and that was FREAKIN AMAZING!!! You can hear waves crash on shore, but you're nice and warm by fire. We had smores and banana boats. The kids played football and soccer on the beach. Alyssa found us tons of wood on the beach so our fire went on nice and strong for a long time...Best time ever!

Here waves crash into rocks. Cape Disappointment lighthouse was created as so many shipwrecks happened here. Currently the coast guard does their training near here as it's the roughest waters where the Columbia River meets the Ocean.

The sand was too wet - so I couldn't drive far out there, but it was fun to have the car out on Long Beach!
It was very pretty and amazing to see.
Nothing like go-cart riding! Jordan and Parker we racing and Hayley was just toodling along. She wrecked into Parker on 1st lap, so after that - she just took it at her pace.
The 3 of them had a blast that day!

On Long Beach they have Sandcastle builiing competitions...here are some of the locals practicing for the big event next weekend...pretty amazing!
Grandpa - what a stud muffin!! He was so much fun to be with - sporting his garbage sack on his belt loop (which held our sand dollars we had found). Parker and Hayley love their Grandpa so much!! They love Grandma too...and missed her out there with us that day!

Tillamook Cheese factory - we got see how the cheese is made, we ate samples of all kinds of cheese and we got spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa and got to have 2 scoops of any Tillamook ice cream we wanted! Such a fun day!
While "Whale Watching" we did see some sea lions!
Trying to fit it all in before Zach had to leave - we went to Ecola Beach (Indian Head Beach) on a rainy early evening. Tide wasn't as low as we hoped - so we saw as much as we could. Grandpa was a trooper man - he rolled up his pants and we had a ball!
We are out where water is usually really deep looking for star fish and sea anemonies (spelling?)...
Parker and Zach had so much fun! They rapped like crazy - Zach is hip and has groove and Parker beat boxed for him to create a beat - it was fun.
While in Seaside - we decided to take a 1 1/2 hr road trip along the coast to Depoe Bay. We went whale watching. It was so fun until Zach and Linda got sea sick - but hey - we made it all the way out there ok, but not all the way back to shore. We survived though - but the bummer was the whale was hiding. The boat before us saw him...
Hayley and Zach got along great - they all 3 did - it was so much fun!
We went to Brigham City, Utah and met Dave's family for dinner. Then we got to bring Zach back with us to hang out with our family for a couple days before we headed to Seaside, OR. The kids played catch in the back yard & jumped on the tramp.
Zach meshed with Parker and Hayley really well. They had a great time together.
