Parker turns 18!!!

After a very disappointing Senior Year in Marching Band, the band members chipped in together and baught Parker this mixer to use for his beatboxing! Parker was in shock and could barely speak. He lead the band with such pride and encouragement, but finally broke down in St. George; the band members knew how much he cared & it was a pretty tender few minutes. Parker's friend Hadley came up with the idea & pitched it to both busses of kids & man did they hand out money...and all for Parker to get this mixer. Hayley got Parker some amazing cologne!

Parker rarely wants Birthday Cake...His favorite is Mom's chocolate fudge. So we stick candles in fudge for him! He loves it!

Here's some of the band after their Christmas Concert. From Left to Right it's : Jake, Tyler, Parker, Robert, Hadley, Alex & Paul. This had been a fun concert & Parker got to beatbox once again.

After the concert Hadley revealed yet another surprise!! You can't see it very well at all, but the band lead Parker out to his car & showed him that they collected enough money, to also get him personalized license plates: "BEATBOX". I helped a little to get it all done!

Winter Already??!!

Thank goodness Parker & Hadley put the Christmas lights up on the day I asked them to! The very next weekend - we got SNOW!!! Parker out shoveling. Note his outfit - yes, he is properly dressed to shovel snow....Now Hayley is another story!

Last Marching Season of High School :-(

Final Pose Parker held after the "Raging Machines" performance was done. Although the show was confusing to those who didn't know what it meant, it always brought chills to see everyone so dark & fierce looking. Especially Parker in front of them all. Here is the final salute once show is done. Everyone throws off their "red" and bares their masks to the stands & judges. It actually was pretty cool. Here is the band in St. George just after their performance walking back to our spot. Everyone was so tired and ready for a break!

Homecoming Dates & Dance!

Because Hayley is Homecoming Royalty, she had to go to the Homecoming Dance, but this presented a problem because she's not 16 yet. Jordan is a close family friend and he and Hayley have been great friends for along time. Jordan hangs out with Parker a lot too and is at our house nearly every day. He asked me if it would be ok if he took Hayley to the dance...and could I just take them. He was so cute...I couldn't say no. He was so sweet to her.
Here I've just dropped them off on the curb. They are ready for some fun!

Hayley and I picked up Jordan at his home. He did great, matching pale yellow shirt - he looked awesome and oh the sparkle in his eye when Hayley walked in. It was too fun!

This group of 8 had a great time together. The other 3 couples had a day long day date. But Katie had some family things to do and Parker had a Marching Band Show - so they just got together for dinner & the dance.

Parker and Katie...such a cute couple! They are great friends and decided to do a re-do since they went together last year!

As pretty as she is here...Can you believe he made her dig in a can of Crisco to find his name in the Ingredients. She fell for it to and dug thorugh it, but he'd written his name across the "ingredients list" on the outside of the can. Mean, but so fun! She was excited.

She answered him at the Mr. PHS pageant. After his talent part of the competition she had the MC's announce that the certain someone he asked to Homecoming said YES!

So fun together. Katie makes me laugh so hard - she is a fun fun girl. Parker loves being with her - they have so much fun!

Dinner was a very good General Tso's chicken salad with all the toppings dreamed of. They had cheesy bread and cake. Linda & Lori did all the decorations and tried to make it fun for them. They dined to my 80's music on Records! Turns out, they Love Beach Boys Endless Summer!

Idaho State University Homecoming Parade

Sat. Sept. 25th - ISU's Homecoming Parade and Poky's Homecoming Royalty got to be in it. Here is the Homecoming Queen (Tavia) and her 1st (Emily) & 2nd (Emerald) Assistants. They flex their muscles and show their real grit! Fun Girls
Hayley and Mackenzie had a dead on tie for Sophmore Duchess. They are super good friends so this was a huge relief to them. They are riding in Mackenzie's grandpa's bug that he fixed up. They had a great time!

Homecoming Week Fun

Following the Royalty Assembly - where they were all announced, they take a photo op before heading out to the windy day.

Roytalty or not...she has to show the fun and casual side of herself! Yeah, teacher over royalty was not too happy with her. I thought it was fun.

Here they are at the assembly where they were all announced to the school. Junior Princess on far left, Freshman Lady in black dress below. First attendant to queen in white & black, Queen in chair, 2nd attendant to her right. Sophmore Duchesses on the far right. There was a tie so both Hayley and Mackenzie got to be royalty together. This made them very happy!

Following the Royalty Assembly Parker gets a quick picture with Hayley. This was her big day, but his will come soon! They are best of friends and love hanging out together.
During Color Guard practice Parker finds his own fun...if you can call this fun. He's the beast on the bottom holding Jordan and Conner on his shoulders. He even takes 5 steps away from the wall so when they come crashing down they don't bang their heads on that cement wall. The looks on each boys face tells it all!

This is him doing his Beatboxing thing at a dance held in Old town Pocatello. But the big news is on Wednesday night of Homecoming Week PHS held a "Mr PHS Pageant". Parker participated and walked away with "Mr Talent PHS" for the night! Pretty exciting. On Friday at the Homecoming Game Pep Assembly he got to do his thing in front of the whole school. The screams were so loud and he has landed himself into quite a bit of popularity! What a fun senior year for him...he is amazing!

Here they work inside...There were anywhere from 5-10 people in every room, hallway, bathroom - for 6 hours straight - but they got it done! Cool to watch these guys cruise around on stilts!

Muding & Sanding crews come out of the building. It's been a long hot day! From 2-8pm they got all the dry wall taped, mudded & sanded. This home is 4400 sq ft. finished - 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms & a private apartment. That's a lot to do in 6 hours!

While inside crews worked - so did outside crews - they got all the siding on the entire home! Here's a view from the back of the house. I imagine there will be a beautiful patio & outside entertainment area here. Quite an amazing process to be able to watch up close and be a part of.


Every so often the "stars" of the show would show up & film a shot. Here Paulie acts as though he's rock climbing and Ed is handing him water. They show up for 30-40 min. shoot their shot & then leave...then the work begins again. It sure is the behind the scenes people to work their tails off to get the huge service project done.

At a nearby park was the location of the wood working/art crews. It's fun to see what they are working on & how it'll appear in the home & on the show.

This man is restoring an old cello & other instruments to present to the family.

This is towards the end of my shift. I hauled lumber, picked up trash pieces not to be used, carried dry wall out and mostly spent the day walking to every worker there offering them water, gatorade, juice & snacks. The skilled workers were so determined & on such a deadline to get things done, it was hard to make them stop & drink...but they needed to - it was nearly 100 today! Although they were on that huge deadline to get things done. A very fun, exhausting, but fulfilling day! Glad I got the chance to help a little and be involved!
