After the competition was done on Friday night - we got up and went over to Zions National Park and let the kids do some hiking. Parker did the most scarey thing! He went on a hike to Angel's Landing - to learn more go to Zions website...It's a very strenuous hike on one of the tallest rock cliff's...that just weeks ago a lady fell from and died. But he said he knew his limits and would be ok. He was not only ok, but he loved it. He felt like they all bonded as friends so much more & he said he'd do it again! I was just so thankful they all returned safe.

Hayley took a picture of this sign...so fitting! Hayley and I stayed with a different group of kids and we took some less difficult trails. They still kicked my butt and Hayley got to goof off and have a blast because they were too easy for her. But she was being safety conscious wanting to be healthy for basketball.

Here she is on our tour bus ride that we took around the park.

It was such a change to be in St. George instead of all the Utah competitions...It was so hot! The color guard practiced in the hotel parking lot, while the band practiced down a couple blocks on a field. The girls decided to do a group hug/pose!

Here the band practices right before going on! We dumb Mom's forgot to bring a Cooler Chest for Water or spray bottles to cool the band down....We were such losers...The kids had to drink bottled water that was room temperature - I felt so bad!! Here they are warming up and sweating to death...Yeah next year, I'll do a lot better! Look at their red sweaty faces...
At the St. George competition we didn't fare as well...I think the sun kicked our butts...We took 3rd today, but it was still dang good! There were 11 bands from all over the west side of the United States and we took 3rd!!! They did awesome!!
